The News Breaks My Heart…

March 8, 2013 in Family

I don’t like watching or reading the news. This drives my husband a little crazy as he is always reading the news and feels that it is important to keep up with.  I, on the other hand, prefer not to read the news unless there is a situation that someone has alerted me to.

Most recently I heard that a travel blogger and her family had experienced a horrible drowning of their two year old son.   While this was tragic enough, I later had a link shared with me displaying the details of the tragedy.  It was the most horrific article I think I have ever read!  I cried for well over an hour.  Even later in the evening I found myself crying more.  As I was holding my own two year old little boy the facts surrounding their son’s murder laid into my heart so hard that I was unable to control my emotions…

I have come to the conclusion that I need someone to read the news and summarize it for me.  I just can’t handle knowing the details that it now shares with the world.  There are people who have a vivid imagination who can read and story and flashes are displayed in their mind… I am one of these people.  Many think this quality is a blessing, I quite often find it as a curse. There is just too much going on in this world that my mind can’t handle… that poor family. [Lord help their family and all they are going through.]   I can only imagine the pain, anger, and sorrow they must feel.
