Gentle Shepherd Giveaway!
February 6, 2013 in Giveaways
The following is a guest post review from DaLynn at Holy Splendor. On her blog she features fantastic products from small Christian businesses from all over the United States. She believes that this is God’s plan for her blog and I have sincere admiration for her in her efforts. Stop by and support her and the small business she supports today! ~ Victoria
We struggle with getting handwriting done around here. It’s not something I feel that I should place a huge emphasis on doing, as with the technology available these days I think it’s more important to learn typing and computer skills. Write your name and fill out a form, and that’s pretty much all you MUST know. But it does need to be legible, and our “legible” needs some work.
I had the privilege of receiving for the purpose of review a full set of the Copy & Draw copywork pages from Gentle Shepherd. Mostly I was interested in them for my second son’s sake; we often have some trouble getting him to work on anything he’s not already super excited about doing in the first place. (Ahem.) He’s stated previously that he’d enjoy pages where he could write and draw, and we’ve tried several things in line with that, but I haven’t found anything he does as readily as these pages!
The pages are short, just a phrase at a time. I think that helps my son get past his mind’s roadblocks. He’s sat and done 10 or 12 pages at a time, which is more than any single sheet of spelling workbook I’ve ever sat in front of him. Breaking it up into small bursts, with the art relief in between, really seems to be up his alley.
The boys both worked and worked on these for an hour or more the first time I printed them out to try. The older of the two, the one I have so much trouble with often, sat and worked the longest and did three or four times the number of pages that his brother did. I was really quite happy. Even when I realized I’d lost pictures in my new computer transfer and had to sit them down just for a few more pictures for the review, they came in from jumping on the trampoline to do handwriting! (With a small amount of grumbling I’ll admit, but did it and took some decent pictures to boot!)
We are really happy with these, and for the price you certainly can’t do much better for the value. There are quite a few pages included, and several font choices available. Just look at these gorgeous pages!
Gentle Shepherd has a few fun things to offer to Drive Me Crazy Family Adventure readers! If you’ll find her on Teachers Pay Teachers, she’s offering a FREEBIE entitled Begin to Write with Compound Words.
You can also find Gentle Shepherd on Etsy where she has featured some of her Fuzzle Family Felties, which we will be featuring in another post later this month! Keep an eye out for that!
Also, Gentle Shepherd is offering 6 winners their own set of Copy & Draw! That’s right – we’ll have SIX winners! Leave a comment as to which font you will pick if you are a winner (see options HERE) as our only mandatory entry, and please support the other homeschooling bloggers who are helping to spread the word about this fantastic giveaway. Extra entries for doing the whole form!
